Barak Ravitz

Barak RavitzBarak Ravitz was born in Israel (1982), lives and works in Tel Aviv, and specializes in sculpture and video.
Ravitz is a graduate of the School of Art - Midrasha.

His exhibition "Repêchage Bracket" (2016) was his third solo exhibition at the Dvir Gallery, Tel Aviv. It was preceded by solo exhibitions at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art’s Helena Rubinstein Pavilion (2006), at MoBY - Bat Yam Museums (2009), at the Artists' Workshops Gallery, Tel Aviv (2013), at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2015), and more. Participated in many group exhibitions, including at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Haifa Museum of Art, the Ashdod Museum, KIT, Düsseldorf, Germany, and more. 

Participated in an artist residency program at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France (2010), and won an artist exchange scholarship in Düsseldorf, Germany on behalf of the Kerry and Dan Brunner Foundation, North Rhine-Westphalia Cultural Foundation, Goethe Institute and Artists' Workshops in Tel Aviv (2013). In 2019 he won the Encouragement of Creativity Award and in 2012 he won the Young Artist Award - both from the Ministry of Culture and Sports; In 2007 he won the Ingeborg Bachmann Scholarship, established by Anselm Kiefer (Wolf Foundation).

Ravitz teaches art at Faculty of Arts - HaMidrasha, Beit Berl College.
