Ron Amir

Ron Amir (born 1973) is an artist who creates with photography and video.
He has a B.Ed.F.A from Beit Berl College, and an M.F.A from the Department of Art at the University of Haifa.

Amir's works raise social questions about the place and time we live in. Amir focuses on long-term projects with marginalized communities, focusing on the various ways in which these communities respond to the limitations imposed on them by the social, economic and political system.

Amir exhibits his work in museums in Israel and around the world, including: the Israel Museum Jerusalem, the Haifa Museum, the Mishkan Museum of Art in Ein Harod, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Philadelphia Museum, K.W. in Berlin, and many more.

In addition, Amir has won many awards, such as: the Landau Award, awards from the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sports: the Young Artist Award, the Creative Encouragement Award and the Minister of Culture Award.

His works have been purchased for important collections, including: the Tel Aviv Museum Collection, the Israel Museum, the Ashdod Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and more.
