ד"ר רונית ובמן שפרן היא מרצה לבלשנות בחוג לשפה וספרות אנגלית. היא כיהנה במשך 6 שנים בתפקיד ראש החוג, בין השנים 2017-2023. היא בעלת תואר ראשון ושני בבלשנות אנגלית מהאוניברסיטה העברית ותואר דוקטור בבלשנות מאוניברסיטת העיר ניו–יורק ((Graduate Center, City University of New York. עבודת הדוקטורט שלה עסקה בעיבוד תחבירי ופרוזודיה של משפטים בעלי צירוף יחס כפול. תחומי המחקר העיקריים שלה הם הבנת משפטים — ובפרט עיבוד תחבירי (parsing), פרוזודיה, וממשק התחביר-פרוזודיה — ופרגמטיקה רב-לשונית.
